It appears with a little knowledge and discipline it would be a profitable side hustle.

forced over tipping .

basically it’s become the norm to basically have to tip every little hand unless you want to get mean looks .

Almost impossible to be profitable live tipping the amount that has become the standard .

And I’m a huge tipper at places to eat , Uber , haircuts etc..

But the idea that you supposed to give up 3 to 5% of a pot for every single hand is absurd .

That’s why I won’t play cash games live anymore .
I will play tournies because you only expected to tip if you finish ITM

This is also the case for blackjack .

The tipping mentality has become out of control at casinos .
Don’t want to sound like a cheapskate but these people get paid a regular wage .

now I recently found out you supposed to tip the cashier at the sports book when you when a sports bet . WTF

I made the bet on a kiosk .
You did absolutely nothing besides take my ticket and pay me

About tipping at the sportsbook, you might be cashing a 2k or 3k ticket but for the day you are -2k. They still expect a tip. At the blackjack table I never tip while playing anymore I only tip when i color in my chips. Never forget back in the 80's at the old playboy club in AC I was betting 1k per hand heads up with a dealer, was tipping 100 chips. Win some hands lose some hands. bottom line was up 20k went to eat and lost everything plus my 3k. tipped over 1k while playing. Never again.

Used to be in California poker was a game of chance but lowball was a game of skill. Played a lot of lowball as a young man. Then the law changed as we all know. By then l was married having kids never really frequented. And as others have stated the rake is grueling you can be at a table and no ones winning but chips diminish. But what really chaps my hyde is how the industry has bolstered Texas Holden for no other reason imo because you can have up to ten players per table and each hand is only minutes long rake pot and on to the next pot and rake. Horse racing also the take out seems to be increasing over the years. It’s a tough way to make a living.

I hit a bad beat pot like 15 years ago in AC. One of the few times I really felt like it was found money. Lost with 4 kings to 4 Aces . Every one at table was pretty happy. I did tip as I usually do but yes the sense of entitlement today is overwhelming

I only do it at the sports window so I can get a stack of drink tickets for my kids. It’s a hell of a lot easier tipping 20 bucks and feeding a few young lushes tickets then paying 10-20 bucks a pop.
